Jun 29 - Day 5
Ned and Jerry decided to take the day off to rest. Drove to Kettle Falls where the girls spent the day as tourists. Guys rested and cleaned up their bikes. Stayed at Grand View Inn, a motel being renovated. Operated by very, very nice folks. Jerry grilled hamburgers for dinner. Girls will drive them back to Republic in the morning for them to continue ride.
Jun 28 - Day 4
Started the day with Jerry making omelets of spinach, mushrooms and feta cheese. Wow! Began riding at 7:00, feeling strong. Jerry is a little sunburned. Rode from Omak to Republic thru dry area with sagebrush, a total of 64 miles. Ned had first flat tire. Arrived in Republic about 2:30. Stayed at the Klondike Motel. Very nice place. Ate dinner at Esther's where they serve wonderful Mexican fare. Also the Mercantile has great ice cream, Ned ate a pint of maple walnut. Total miles to date 276.

Jun 27 - Day 3
Another day, another hill - rode 60 miles to Omak, WA. Total miles to date 212. Met an interesting couple from Chicago. Their blog http://www.ericandariel.blogspot.com/. Girls spent the day looking for the night's lodging. Found the Royal Motel, has kitchenette where we can cook dinner and breakfast.
First Two Days
First day of riding Anacortez to Marblemount WA - total miles 74. Day of flat country along the Skagit River. Beautiful country. Ladies found scenic cabin and provided homecooked dinner and breakfast.
Second day of riding Marblemount to Mazama WA - total miles 78 over Washington Pass in Cascade Mountains. About 7,000 feet elevation gain with about 30 miles of up. We made snowballs in June. The guys were tired but in good spirits. Stayed the night in a beautiful cabin with more homecooked meals.
Pictures to follow, internet access is now somewhat limited.

On the road and almost there!
Haven't had much time to post. We are putting in long travel days so we can get where we need to start. We did a little more sightseeing than expected on the way out and will not start riding until Friday. We took some good pics of the Badlands and Mount Rushmore that will hopefully be posted tonight. We have about 700 miles to drive today yet! Ready to ride (not in the car)!
